Yes Theory at Camp Film Festival!
a full circle moment
This is a special one for me and so, we’re getting personal.
Like many, I grew up alongside the internet. From home videos, pranks, gaming channels, the goal was always to become a creator. If you’re reading this, chances are you also fall within this category. Hours of childhood and early teenage years spent falling into the worlds of Casey Neistat, Rhett & Link, Elle Mills, and all those who pioneered what it means the tell stories online.
Yet above all, the most impactful creators to me were Thomas, Matt, & Ammar from YesTheory. From following their story at the first Yes House to the endless re-watches of the Wim Hoff documentary, I could only dream to one day be a part of something as impactful.
Years later I would end up meeting them for the first time. It was my first year of telling my own stories online and they had seen something in me. Inviting me out to the Yes House to join them on an adventure (you can watch the video here lol).
Since then, we’d cross paths several times. Whether it was small words of encouragement on Instagram, creator events, or happenstance meetings, they always did feel like mentors to us — watching us take Creator Camp from a simple idea in a Discord server to a full on film festival in Austin.
Last week we announced YesTheory is going to be at the Camp Film Festival and I’ll be so real — it’s so damn exciting. A full circle moment (website will be updated today but you can see their post here)
They’ll be hosting a session about:
The story behind their feature film “Project Iceman” and turning down deals from large studios
The evolution of storytelling on the internet and how great stories are platform agnostic
The future of YesTheory and the power of community-driven storytelling
We are now less than a month from the film festival! So, if you want to hear from Yes Theory at the Camp Film Festival, you can buy tickets below now (prices go up on April 10th again, so just make sure you do it before then).
Their talk will be on the main stage and available to all ticket tiers.
I’d like to believe that through all the years following meeting the Yes Theory guys for the first time, we’ve always carried a bit of their DNA alongside us as we’ve navigated growing Creator Camp —a place for human connection, a place for gathering, and a place to inspire each other.
See you soon,
-Simon
Q&A
Which pass is best for me?
Film Weekend Pass ($50): For those looking to watch films and meet other likeminded people interested in filmmaking. Access to theater screenings & keynote sessions (Gawx, Natalie Lynn, Yes Theory, Kane Pixels & Wesley Wang)
Studio Pass ($299): This is for the creators who are looking to learn, meet others on the same journey, and be part of a new community. Access to 10+ intimate workshops, fireside chats, and music performances both nights.
Producer Pass ($999): Producer passes are limited to 50. This tier includes access to premium seating and priority entry into the Paramount Theater alongside 2x private dinner experiences with the CC Team, Filmmakers, and other industry professionals.
What if I don’t know anyone?
We are planning to set up a discord channel for those in the Studio/Producer Tier a few weeks ahead of the festival!
