The Latest News In The Camp Community
Hello friends!
Writing to you from HQ in Austin, TX today! We’re moving into the holiday season which is my favorite time of the year :)
We’re super grateful for all the momentum we’ve been experiencing since Base Camp. As usual, there are a lot of exciting things going on in the community, so without further ado let’s dive into it!
P.S. We have a special guest writer today Simon Kim and we don’t have a vlog for you this week but more of a documentary showcasing where we’ve been and how we got here. A Plan To Change The Internet Forever
Borderless Film Premiere 🎞
“Natalie has an inability to be inauthentic” - a statement Ryan made this past week at the Borderless Finale Premiere. This seemingly simple quote failed to escape my mind throughout the week - following me into coffee shops, hiking trails, and even as I began attempting to write my next video.
For the past two years, Natalie Lynn has been documenting her life through films on YouTube about her travels, learnings, and coming of age story. While most of the creator world knows her as the face of the YouTube New Wave and next generation of storytellers, those of us in the camp community know her as one of the most genuine, kind-hearted souls there are.
After coming to terms that this upcoming episode of Borderless would be the last. Natalie made the decision to bring her film to the big screen, renting out a theater here in Austin and selling tickets to fans from all over the US (some even flying or driving hours to be there).
The experience was magical. From opening screenings from Ryan Ng, Tanner Ray, Aaron Clemons, and Cameron Clayton, to an incredible Q&A hosted by Elle Mills, there was something so special about it. Here we were, all transfixed on a larger-than-life screen as we watched….a YouTube video…
Safe to say, we all left feeling deeply inspired, there are very few artists out there like Natalie Lynn and we’re just so grateful to be a small part of the story.
Not to be overlooked, The Basement Boys, a group of creatives consisting of Tanner Ray, Aaron Clemons, and Cameron Clayton took the stage at the premiere, showcasing their respective series’: Connecting the Dots, Isn’t that what your 20s are for?, and Running Away.
You have all worked so hard for this and we could not be more proud. In a world of AI generated content and fast-scrolling dopamine fixes, it’s rare to find those that choose to go against the grain. The few that stand against the flow of the river and instead of looking out at “what’s working”, choose to look inward at the most intimate, unique stories they can tell.
The few creators who truly do paint both sides of the fence.
The topic of conversation within the Creator Camp team this past week has been the mission of making the internet a better place - whether that’s to push online content in a direction of meaning or to just exist more as our true selves, how do we take back the narrative of what’s been handed to us through these social media platforms?
And so, whether you are a creator, entrepreneur, camp community member, or lead marketing at a startup - I think we all could learn a little more from Natalie and the innate need to create authentically.

Living Luna’s Drop 🌕
Last week our friend Olivia Burgees, an incredible self-taught artist who recently attended Base Camp, released a video teasing her “Dreamers Collection” which launched just over a week ago.
It was an honor of ours to have many moments from Base Camp and our community woven into her video. Thank you, Liv for putting this collection of moments together into video format.
Go checkout this release, Oliva tends to create some incredible apparel.

Yellow Stone Crew 🌲🏔
It’s been quite amazing to see the East Coast crew meeting up and hosting get get-together. However, they are not the only ones!
Huge shoutout to Jazmine & Brinlee who decided at Base Camp that afterward they would move to Yellowstone for a month to continue working on music and other projects together!
They went off and made this a reality, you can find their YouTube video about this adventure here.
Over this past month, whats been incredible to witness is all the people in the community who have gone out to visit & work alongside them out in Yellowstone!
Thank you Jazmine & Brinlee!
Artist on the Rise 🔥
This past week, this video by Ali has been shared around everywhere. It’s rare to find something that seems different in the ever-growing sludge of content that gets thrown our way.
Yet, Ali’s video about creative procrastination was incredible. From the media company he runs to the content he creates, it’s refreshing to see someone who is so set on telling better-human stories online :)
Chris’ [Corn]er
Guys! Here is the latest on our corn, as you can see we have had tremendous progress since that last update.
Although I do feel like we’re starting to hit a plateau. The weather is getting colder by the day here in Austin and from everything I’ve been told it’s almost impossible to crow corn this time of year.
With that being said I am still optimistic and that I can grow a few cobs. It might not be ready for Thanksgiving this week but I am going to continue trying and will keep you all updated :)
Creator Camp Team Updates 🔥⛺️
Things are super exciting on our side, we have the ambitious goal to host a number of events & dinners in 2024. We’re currently scouting locations/dates for the next Base Camp which we are EXTREMELY excited to put together.
This week we are hoping to close Notion and Playbook as a sponsor for the next Base Camp. The Notion team was really happy with the response from everyone. This was largely thanks to the community rallying behind our partners so thank you!
Some of you might recall that we used Playbook for all the photos & videos from our event in Bend, Oregon and we’re hoping to lock in a more official partnership with them for the next event. If you’re not familiar Playbook is essentially a better, more creative, google drive. They offer up to 4TB of free cloud storage for artists. Hopefully, we can hook up the community! As we started thinking about Events for the upcoming year we wanted to ask the community for help. This was actually an idea from Janice (@Janice.Journal) that we thought was genius. As many of you know Creator Camp is funded through sponsorships which allow us to make the entire experience free.
We put a lot of effort and time into finding potential sponsors for our events. Sometimes this process can take months. Last year I spent around 6 months emailing companies and flying across the world to try and connect with people & brands.
Many of you guys have worked with awesome brands in the past. If there are any brands that you would want to bring to camp and could integrate well into a Creator Camp event perhaps through sponsoring an activity, editing session, outdoor adventure, or providing product, we would be extremely appreciative to explore those opportunities.
Some Fun Extra Things & Opportunities 🙌
We’re also seeking additional support over at Creator Camp if anyone is interested in a 3-month internship. Feel free to fill out this form. We are preparing to kick this off in the next week!
We started a Creator Camp running club through Strava. Last week our winner was Annie Dang - you can sign up and run with us here!
